Castelli Ferrieri, Anna

Anna Castelli-Ferrieri was born in 1920 in Milan, where she studied architecture, graduating in 1943. Marrying into the Castelli family (owners of Kartell) in the same year, she subsequently began a long career designing for Kartell. She developed many new products with them using plastics as well as polyurethane, polystyrene and polypropylene, some of which items are still in production today. Perhaps her most famous & enduring design, Componobili for Kartell, can be seen in many museums around the world including MOMA in New York.
